Any questions, please feel free to ask.The famous Dulux Dog became one of Britain’s most recognisable advertising icons after first appearing by accident in a 1961 television commercial — at a time when Dulux was an early adopter of TV advertising in the UK. An Old English Sheepdog called ‘Dash’ wandered into the filming of an early Dulux advert and began interacting naturally with the child actors, and the footage was so charming it was kept in the final cut. The response was immediate, and the dog quickly became the brand’s official mascot. Over time, successive generations of sheepdogs continued the role, turning the “Dulux Dog” into a long-running advertising tradition and a symbol of the brand itself.
